The village of El Roc de Sant Gaietà is one of cataluynas hidden gems.
Our route to El Roc takes you on the old Roman road, the Via Augusta, which follows the beautiful coastline of the Costa Dorada. The road has the impressive Arch of Triumph – Arco de Bara which is an archeological treasure, constructed in honour of the emperor Augusto and proclaimed by the Spanish government as a National Monument in 1926.
El Roc is a typical Spanish fishing village with a mediterranean style, situated in Roda del Bara, perched on the cliffs above the sea. You will experience different architectural influences, which include, Moorish, Andalusian and Seville.
After walking through the Moorish entrance gate, stroll around the cobbled traffic free streets. Relax in a typical mediterranean court-yard with fountains, surrounded by exotic flowers. One of the many arches will take you towards the sea to discover a beautiful garden with remarkable and curious shaped old pine trees that have been bent by the wind from the sea. It is an ideal place for you to rest in peace and quiet and enjoy the beauty of the fishing port.

The townhall was recently restored and has the Writer's museum and a wonderful exhibition of dolls – both of which you can visit for free.
The interior of the building is well worth a visit for the beautiful wooden columns and sweeping staircase with stained glass windows.
The centre also has a private collection of the famous Spanish artist and sculpture Salvador Dalí. This unique collection contains sculptures which were carved in wax by Dali himself.

Enjoy the resturants and bars – overlooking the “blowhole” created by the erosion of the sea. Browse in the unique & individual local shops containing may local crafts.
If you fancy a stroll along the stunning cliffs, there is a 30 min lazy walk from El Roc to the Mare de Deu (Mother of God) de Bara church. It is located, in a beautiful spot on the top of the cliffs above the sea.
El Roc is the place to relax and experience life in a Spanish village.
